Ayano Wolff first began volunteering with the Survivor and Family Empowerment (SAFE) Project at Advancing Justice - LA as a law clerk during her 2L year of law school.  The SAFE project focuses on providing legal assistance with family law and immigration issues to immigrant survivors of domestic violence, particularly those who are low-income and limited-English speaking.

On October 23, 2015, California Labor Commissioner Julie Su, California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls, in partnership with Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Los Angeles (Advancing Jusitce-LA) and a broad coalition of worker, labor, and community leaders convened a day-long “Workplace Justice Summit” to discuss how to make this year’s legislative gains for workers a reality.

Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Los Angeles applauds the recent appointment of Pro Bono Director Christina Yang to the State Bar Standing Committee on the Delivery of Legal Services (SCDLS). Yang was appointed by the State Bar Board of Trustees to join SCDLS, one of seven new members to join the Committee this fall. The State Bar of California is a public corporation that regulates the professional conduct of the state’s lawyers and provides greater access to legal services.
