Program Assistant - Immigration Project

Position Summary:  The Immigration Project seeks a full-time program assistant to support the Project’s staff with outreach, assistance, advocacy, and communications to the immigrant community and the Project’s clients. The program assistant will provide assistance in the areas of: intake, call-backs, data entry, grant reporting, case filings, document preparation, and workshop planning. We seek a motivated, self-directed individual who can help support the Project’s staff with their administrative duties. This position will be under the supervision of the Immigration Project Director.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct client intake;
  • Call back clients and other callers;
  • Translation of documents;
  • Provide administrative support to all Immigration Project staff, including Staff Attorneys, DOJ Accredited Representatives and Legal Advocates;
  • Staff weekly immigration clinics/workshops as needed;
  • Assist with outreach efforts and workshop coordination as needed, and
  • Data entry for grant reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree;
  • Fluency in Spanish required;
  • Strong writing and communication skills;
  • Must be self-directed, organized, comfortable working independently and as part of a team and have the ability to initiate and coordinate duties as assigned;
  • Detail oriented;
  • Valid driver's license, insurance, and access to an automobile or alternative means of transportation, and
  • A demonstrated interest in serving immigrant communities.

Compensation:  Starting at $18.00 per hour (DOE) plus bilingual supplement.  A generous benefit package includes paid medical, dental, vision insurance, and retirement plan. Parking provided.
