Program Educator / Navigator – Health Access Program

Under the supervision of the HAP Program Director, the Health Program Educator/Navigator will lead HAP direct service work, including conducting outreach, education, enrollment, redetermination, renewals/post enrollment, case management and follow-ups, and advocacy activities; works in conjunction with HAP team to help develop curriculums and facilitate trainings and workshops, and with Advancing Justice–LA department staff and other partnering organizations to increase health care options, health information literacy, and service access navigation – including Covered California (the state’s health care marketplace), Medi-Cal programs and other health care programs.  The Health Program Educator will also provide outreach, in-reach, in-language post-enrollment/renewal work, technical assistance, and case management, and also provide assistances in enrollment into appropriate health programs, and in translations of community outreach, education, and advocacy materials.

Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager role has oversight functionality over grants accounting, post-award administration financial accounting and audit preparedness. Additionally, this role is instrumental in tracking grant oversight key performance metrics and associated reporting to senior leadership. This is a nonexempt position and responsible for preparing monthly grant/contract billings to federal, non-federal and private grantors and ensures proper compliance with all GAAP, grant/contract standards and guidelines. This role also assists with payroll processing and payroll allocations, vendor disbursements and account analysis. This position exercises independent judgment and discretion and is responsible for making recommendations to improve grant reporting procedures and compliance and other accounting procedures. This position also supports the organization and Controller in all audit processes, while ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting processes and procedures.

Staff Attorney - Immigration

Reporting to the Immigration Project Director, the Staff Attorney works directly on complex immigration cases, with a current emphasis on immigration cases dealing with victims of crimes (U, VAWA, T visas), and removal defense cases, provides technical support and capacity building to other nonprofit organizations on immigration, and staffs evening and weekend workshops. Primary duties assigned to the staff attorney include, but are not limited to, providing direct application assistance in immigration cases, providing legal representation for diverse clients with complex immigration cases before USCIS and Immigration Court, and conducting immigration trainings for other CBOs and partner agencies. This position does not have any direct reports.

Development Officer

Under the direction of Director of Institutional Giving, the Development Officer works to secure financial support from foundation, government, and corporate grant makers.  They are involved with identifying prospects, proposal submissions, renewals when necessary, grant reporting, and ongoing communications with these supporters.  The Development Officer works cross-functionally and with the Executive Leadership to develop and achieve short and long-term development goals for the organization; this position also works with the organization’s strategic partners to identify donor programs, join initiatives, and enhance the organization’s marketability to potential donors.
