Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Los Angeles (Advancing Justice - LA) is the nation’s largest legal and civil rights organization for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (NHPI).
Founded in 1983 as the Asian Pacific American Legal Center, Advancing Justice - LA serves more than 15,000 individuals and organizations every year. Through direct services, impact litigation, policy advocacy, leadership development, and capacity building, Advancing Justice - LA focuses on the most vulnerable members of Asian American and NHPI communities while also building a strong voice for civil rights and social justice.
Advancing Justice - LA is based in downtown Los Angeles, with satellite offices in Orange County and Sacramento.
Advancing Justice - LA’s Orange County office conducts legal clinics and self-help workshops for the AA and NHPI communities. In partnership with the Orange County courts, Advancing Justice - LA holds regular Vietnamese-language family law workshops. Advancing Justice - LA also provides legal assistance to a limited number of Orange County-based immigrant survivors of domestic violence.
Advancing Justice – LA is committed to empowering and improving the lives of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders (AANHPI), communities of color, immigrants and other marginalized groups in the San Gabriel Valley.
Asian Americans Advancing Justice-California, a joint project of Advancing Justice-Los Angeles and Advancing Justice-Asian Law Caucus in San Francisco, engages in statewide policy advocacy that furthers civil rights for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders and all communities of color.
