Health Program Coordinator

Eddie G.

Eddie Hu is a Program Coordinator of the Health Access Project at Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Los Angeles. In this role, he leads the outreach, education, and enrollment efforts of community partners for California’s health coverage programs, including Covered California, Medi-Cal, and local safety net programs, reaching Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPI) and other vulnerable communities. Eddie also provides in-language direct services in Cantonese and Mandarin, and conducts policy advocacy. Prior to joining Advancing Justice – LA, Eddie worked as an administrator of an insurance agency located in San Gabriel Valley, CA. In addition, he also worked as a social work and public health intern at the City of Pasadena Andrew Escajeda Clinic and the Public Health Department. Through various social work internships in Los Angeles, Eddie has worked with children with behavioral health issues and chronic illnesses and their families, in addition to, adults with chronic illnesses. Eddie graduated from the University of Southern California with a Masters of Social Work and a Masters of Public Health, and received his B.A. in Psychology from the California State University, Long Beach.
