Heng Lam Foong joined Advancing Justice in 2017 as a Senior Policy Manager with the Health Access Project. Prior to that she worked at the Urban & Environmental Policy Institute (UEPI) at Occidental College where she managed various programs including Luce China-Environment, Community Health Engagement and Water Works. She helped to develop and implement Oxy's public health minor and remains an adjunct faculty at the College. Heng Lam has also worked at various community non-profits which focus on prevention and health care access including Healthy Eating Active Communities (HEAC) South Los Angeles; Healthy Parks, Healthy Communities at the Trust for Public Land; and PALS for Health/ALAS para tu Salud. She loves the diversity of the city and when she is not on campus, you can probably find her eating at mom & pop owned restaurants, working in the garden or running through the neighborhoods of Los Angeles.
