Vice President of Program Development


Kathleen Chuman is Advancing Justice-LA’s Vice President of Program Development.

Kathleen has over 25 years of experience in the nonprofit field, in both civil rights and faith-based organizations, working in such areas as race relations, conflict transformation, community and youth development, and organizational management. Kathleen started her career at Advancing Justice-LA, as the founding Project Director of the Leadership Development in Interethnic Relations (LDIR) Program, and has also worked as a grants manager in Advancing Justice-LA’s Development Department. Her previous employers include World Vision, the Urban Leadership Institute of the Claremont School of Theology and the Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center. She has also worked as a nonprofit consultant.

Kathleen has an MA in Urban Planning and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
